The first trailer takes viewers into the colorful world of Barbie, but doesn’t reveal many details in terms of characters or story. Barbie and Ken enter the real world and have to deal with the fact that they are not just plastic dolls.

The film was directed by Greta Gerwig (Little Women, Lady Bird, White Noise, Frances Ha) and written by her husband, director and filmmaker Noah Baubach.
