Japanese composer Ryuichi Sakamoto, an electronic music pioneer who wrote scores for several films (including The Last Emperor and The Return), passed away on March 28 at the age of 71 from cancer diagnosed in 2020, his team announced today at their official website. site.

Sakamoto detailed his experience with cancer in an article titled “Living with Cancer”.

In the article in question, the musician spoke in detail about his diagnosis, while he mentioned that in October 2021, as well as in December of the same year, he underwent surgery to remove cancerous tumors that advanced into his lungs.
