Kylian Mbappe was close to joining Real Madrid in the summer of 2022, but at the last minute the Frenchman accepted a contract extension offer from Paris Saint-Germain. Since then, relations between the two sides have cooled and the Parisian forward will have to accept some conditions if he wants to play for Los Blancos.
Real Madrid offer Kylian Mbappe a lower salary than PSG
Kylian Mbappe has become the talk of Los Blancos fans after turning down Florentino Perez’s offer to join Real Madrid in the summer of 2022, signing for Paris Saint-Germain.
The two sides have not spoken since, although both the Real president and Kylian Mbappe have expressed mutual respect.
Additionally, Florentino Perez has since made several statements suggesting that Mbappe will open the door to Real Madrid despite his struggles last summer.
However, Los Blancos are not going to do the same as last year and are offering Kylian Mbappe a lower salary than what he earns at Paris Saint-Germain.
Kylian Mbappe is currently the highest paid player in Ligue 1 and earns at least €72 million per year (gross).
Additionally, Footmercato.net reports that Real are no longer willing to hold direct talks with Paris Saint-Germain, after the Parisians also rejected a €180m bid for Kylian Mbappe last year.
The quoted source claims that Los Blancos officials will force Mbappe to hold a discussion with the club’s management to reach a consensus on a potential transfer fee.
