Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov suggested on Wednesday that Ukraine’s offensive, which will also use acquired Western tanks, could begin in April-May, CNN reports.

In an interview with Estonian radio and television, Reznikov stated that the German Leopard tanks that have started arriving in Ukraine will be part of the “counteroffensive campaign, according to the decision of our General Staff.”

According to him, the leadership of the Ukrainian army is planning this counteroffensive in several directions.

“And it will depend on the moment, the best moment,” Reznikov said, speaking in English. “It will depend on the weather conditions. In the spring, our land is very wet. And you know, you can use only tracked equipment, for example.”

“I think we will see them (tanks) in these two months. I mean April and May,” said Reznikov.

Ukraine is preparing a counteroffensive against the Russian army

Minister Oleksiy Reznikov’s statements came as several Ukrainian leaders and commanders, including President Volodymyr Zelenskyi and General Oleksandr Sirskyi, recently suggested that Ukraine was preparing to launch its long-awaited spring offensive.

Last week, the commander of the Ground Forces of Ukraine, Sirskyi, also said that the Ukrainian army will “very soon take advantage” of the situation on the Bakhmut front, where Russian attacks are slowing down due to heavy losses.

But we remember that the information war is waged by both sides of the conflict, and these statements should always be treated with a note of caution, especially when it comes to the possible disclosure of military intentions.

Another video released by the Ukrainian military on social media the other day also showed how they are training in a European country for a mechanized attack with the help of American armored personnel carriers and military equipment.
