“I was a student at TEI agriculture of Arta, and in the fourth year I was offered to improve my qualifications. In the end, I lost everything,” he tells K. Christ Dimitriadis. 25 year old used one in 2018 layout, according to which the excellent students of the former TEI agriculture, which in the same year were transformed into FOREVER, with one more year of study, they could already have a higher education in their hands.
With an “increased” diploma in hand, two years ago Christ returned in his village Dipotamia Kastoria800 meters from the border with Albania, open a shop selling fertilizers, pesticides and seeds.
“In all the services where I applied for permission, I ran into a wall”
But when he turned to the competent authorities to issue the necessary permission, he crashed, as he usually says, into a wall. “Everyone answered me that this particular degree does not” give “professional rights” he notes and explains that he was eventually forced to open a retail store that sells animal feed and as many agricultural products as a person without a recognized agricultural education is allowed to. A little earlier, Christ reached the point that he turned to the secretariat of the university with a request to return to him … his degree. T.E.I. he was ready “relinquish” a university degree in a desperate attempt to get a professional license, for which he studied for five years. And when he tried to work in the public sector, in the declared agricultural positions, he again ran into the same wall for the same reasons.
Christ says now with lamentation that he and his family struggled for him to learn: “When I was a student in Arta, I worked two jobs and lived in a student residence. Two of my sisters studied at the same time. The people of my village Dipotamiawe are only 200 people. Twenty new guys live in the area and they want to kick us out too.. All young people go abroad. The trees are deserted.”

“The amendment does not solve the problem”
The reason why the graduates of the aforementioned faculties of agriculture in the seven universities of Greece do not have professionally law dates back to 2018 when all departments of agriculture at TEI were upgraded within two years to AEI with a new curriculum.
So, 13 divisions appeared five years of study in accordance with the provisions of laws 4559/2018 (A’142), 4589/2019 (A’13) and 4610/2019 (A’70). However, the professional rights of these graduates have not yet been regulated. Thus, they themselves do not have access to the Hellenic Chamber of Geotechnics, to public tenders and to the labor market of their sector in general.
Due to the fact that the first mass exodus of students from the above faculties is expected next year, the issue of their professional rights has become one of the main public debates in recent days. The situation is currently of great concern to teachers and students of all seven universities on which the indicated departments – University of Ioannina, Thessaly, Patras, Peloponnese, Greek Mediterranean, International University of Greece and Western Macedonia.
Intensive protests of students and teachersthey were driving V to be included a few days ago in the pending bill for the Greek Agricultural Organization – DIMITRA, ministry Development And Attachments, article 126which is trying to solve the problem. The bill is being discussed today and tomorrow in Parliament. However, those directly concerned believe that the amendment does not solve the problem on the merits and does not give a clear answer when these changes will come.
weight resignation of professors from the University of Ioannina
In this regard, yesterday (02/27/2023) it became known that his teachers Department of Agriculture, University of Ioanninawhich is based in Arta, they retired en masse. The decision was made in general meeting last Friday (03/24/2023), when the teachers decided to show their practical support to faculty students.
OUR Anastasy Chinathe president of the relevant department, told K that so far 16 of its members have submitted their resignations Academic A staff of 32 in total, the process is ongoing.
“The proposal of the Ministry of Development, as it is being discussed now, does not provide any solution and is full of ambiguities,” he says to “K” and continues: “The main problem is that it does not indicate clear deadlines for when the recognition of a professional alumni rights. It also states that these 13 departments, for examplewhich arose in 2018 and 2019, they must first apply to the ministry, without specifying which one, and also seek the opinion of the Geotechnical Chamber (GEOTEE) and the National Higher Education Authority. (ETAAE). The amendment does not provide an answer, however, what will happen if not be deposited their opinion or if they just don’t agree. They are both incompetent to exercise professional rights. The result is a perpetuation of the distinction that exists between established ministries of agriculture and ministries created in 2018.”
When asked why these professional rights were not secured when the faculties were created, Mr. Tsinas replied that traditionally, schools start with curricula, then they hire staff, and then there is regulation of professional rights. According to the professor, these schools began work in October 2019, so the issue was within the competence of the current government.
OUR Vasilis Sturnaras, assistant professor of the same department, yesterday submitted a letter of resignation to the rector’s office, as a sign of support, as he says, for all those students who are “hanging in the air.” “Several hundred of them are already “hostages”, and I’m talking about those who took advantage of an additional year of study to improve their skills. Do you know what they end up doing? They are for those who are an agronomist with a degree TEI make him your partner as they are recognized by professional rights.”
According to Mr. Sturnar, the division between “two-speed” students continues with the amendment now under discussion. He cites the example of the Agricultural University of Athens, which had six faculties, and then there were 13.universityization” from TEI – “In the proposed article, the Agricultural University of Athens is mentioned by name, as is AUTH, as well as all those already known as educational institutions whose graduates have professional rights. But 13 sections for tA about which the whole discussion is going on, are not mentioned by name. That is, graduates of the former TEI Will Athens have professional rights, but not the rights of the schools of Ioannina or Patra?”
Mister. China, however, he hoped that the amendment would be improved. As he notes: “Today, a commission of three people from 13 departments met with the Trade and Production Commission of the Parliament, presenting our proposals with a written memorandum. We think the government gets them to your account her”.
For “continuous efforts for the good.” And armored frame for confession the rights of these students” spoke with “K” and about George StyleDeputy Minister of Rural Development and Food.
