
The Region of Attica immediately sealed and imposed a maximum administrative fine of 60,000 euros on the “Center for Special Treatment”, which operates without a license in Kallithea.
In connection with the reports and complaints about the work of the “Center for Special Treatment” in Kallithea, the Regional Governor of Attica, G. Patoulis, immediately instructed the competent Deputy Regional Governor, N. Tomea H. Theodoropoulos, to investigate the case in more depth.
Competent social workers of the Department of Public Health and Welfare of the PE immediately went to the “Center”. Southern sector. Based on the results of the checks, a number of violations were revealed, the most important of which is misleading the authorities and citizens, since formally the structure uses the name “Center for Special Treatment”, although in fact it functions as a Center for creative employment of people with disabilities with the main goal of avoiding the process of licensing and control.
On the basis of a memo and an autopsy report from the social advisers of the Service, the Deputy Governor N. Tomea, on the same day, decided that the building is sealed and a maximum administrative fine of 60,000 this is imposed on it within the framework of the relevant legislative framework of euros.
It should be noted that the services of the region, according to the current legislation, do not have the ability to control and license “Special Treatment Centers”.
An autopsy revealed that the “Special Treatment Center” provided organized social services without the required legal license to establish and operate, that it housed 48 disabled people with autism and mental retardation between the ages of four and twenty, and that – in fact – it provided services KDAP – MEA, all of the above, in violation of the provisions of article 1 of Law 2345/95, as amended and in force.
