Noel Le Graeux has been forced to resign as president of the French Football Federation, with Le Monde now claiming he is embroiled in a new scandal following the World Cup final in Qatar.
Noel Le Graye gave preference to his “clan” during the finals of the 2022 World Cup
According to the quoted source, Le Grae would have invited 28 of his friends and family members to the match between France and Argentina (won by the South Americans in a shootout) at the Lusay Stadium.
It received additional seats from FIFA, in addition to those already received by the French federation under the protocol. Each finalist federation receives a share of seats, including two in the President’s Grandstand and eight in the Official Grandstand. However, FFF got another 20 seats.
Le Grae paid for the air travel to Qatar for his relatives. Among the guests was Philippe Le Hoff, mayor of Guengham. Le Grae was also mayor of Gingham (1995-2008) and president of the local club (1971-1992 and 2002-2011). The finale was also attended by past and present leaders of the group, their wives and a sponsor.
As a result, members of the Executive Committee of the FFF were “demoted” to less successful positions.
In Qatar, the guests were transported and accommodated at the expense of the world forum: “FIFA and Gianni have already resolved the situation, at the time of the final there were many empty rooms in Qatar’s hotels,” said Le Graet.
Le Grae resigned on February 28 from the position of FFF president, facing accusations of moral and sexual harassment and scrutiny, writes News.ro.
