​The design of the regional hospital in Iasi, the construction of which was supposed to start 6 years ago, in 2017, will be completed this month. Minister of Health Alexandru Rafila says that the completion date of the hospital construction is 2027.

The regional hospital in Iasi will have:

• 752 beds of continuous hospitalization

• 6 medical centers

• 86 surgical beds for major burns, transplantology and neonatology

• 113 day hospital beds

The project of the regional hospital in Cluj should be completed in April-May, and the regional hospital in Craiova in November-December.

Alexandru Rafila says that all 3 regional hospitals will be operational by the end of 2027, and in parallel, the Ministry of Health will work on a personnel strategy for these hospitals.

The construction of regional hospitals was originally supposed to start in 2017. In the previous government, the PSD talked about 8 regional hospitals and a “giant hospital, modeled after AKH Vienna.”
