
Four police officers were detained yesterday, on Saturday, in the context of a bus by members of the Internal Affairs Service of the Security Forces on charges of torture and other insults to human dignity through complicity.
Following an investigation by ELAS, it emerged that the police officers in question (officer, constables and special guards), who were responsible for guarding and transferring prisoners to the penitentiary, were committing acts of beating and torture against a foreigner a prisoner.
The prisoner was examined by a medical examiner and the clothes he was wearing were confiscated.
The detainees, against whom a criminal case has been initiated, were taken to the competent prosecutor’s office.
