From today, Saturday, March 11th, the actors and audience in Thessaloniki are returning to the Royal Theatre, “after suspension of settlement theater by students of the KTHBE School of Drama”, as stated in the announcement of the State Theater of Northern Greece (KTHBE).
The public will again have the opportunity to see the comedy of Giorgos Kapucidis “Who wants to get a divorce, let him raise his hand”, the cycle of performances of which has been extended until Sunday, March 19, as well as the performance of the Children’s Stage of the Greek Theater of Greek Orthodoxy “Garis, a musical”, which has already been visited by many schools as stated in the ad.
“For a full 34 days, the occupation of the Royal Theater has been a lively meeting place for the city’s artists and a dynamic center of struggle that has rallied its rival parts,” students from the KBTHE School of Dramatic Arts said in a statement.
“The legacy left by this struggle will remain deeply ingrained in our perceptions, and we promise those who oppress us and vulgarize our lives that they will find us before them in every social injustice, in every state assassination, in every criminal policy,” they conclude.
Recall that students occupied the Royal Theater 34 days ago as part of their actions and mobilizations for the repeal of presidential decree 85/2022.
