For next winter, Bloomsbury is preparing a book specifically for fans of the wizard’s journeyman. In October, Harry Potter’s Magical Almanac, an illustrated guide with lists, diagrams and maps from the world of Harry Potter, will be released in English and 34 languages. The publisher will work with well-known illustrators, and the book will be a kind of “help” for fans who want to put together all the details mentioned in J.K. Rowling’s books. The book will be published in Greek by Psychogios.

Honoring Alka Zeya

On March 15, the Benaki Museum, in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture, opens an exhibition called “The Great Walk of Alkis”, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of the great Alkis Zey. The exhibition, organized as part of Alka Zeya Literary Year 2023, depicts decades of the life and work of the Greek writer, highlights her connection to the social life of the country and era, and reveals the connections between her work in modern history as well. The opening of the exhibition will take place at 19:00 in the presence of the Minister of Culture, Linas Mendonis, and will last until 30 April.

“Secret” by Le Carré

According to author Adam Sisman, a biography focusing on writer John Le Carré’s “turbulent personal life” will be published, highlighting “a hidden life full of mystery, passion and betrayal.” The Secret Life of John le Carré is a follow-up to Shisman’s authorized biography published in 2015 by Bloomsbury. The new book will contain information he was forced to withhold from the previous one when Le Carré was “constantly looking over my shoulder,” Sisman said. It is published with the permission of Le Carré Estate and will be published this October by the independent publisher Profile Books.
