ABOUT Elon Musk apologized for the characterizations and arbitrary conclusions he had publicly expressed against his (now former) employee in Twitter.
It all started when Mr. Hallie Thorleifson tried to connect to his computer last Sunday to work, but found that he, like 200 other people, was denied access.
He imagined that after four months of chaotic layoffs and resignations, he, too, had been fired. However, after nine full days of silence on Twitter about whether he was an employee of the company, the 45-year-old decided to get Musk’s own attention – where else – from Twitter.
“Maybe if enough people retweet my answers here?” wrote about Thorleifsonadding that “the chief of human resources cannot confirm whether I am still your employee.”
“What are you doing;” Musk asked.
Expensive @elonmusk 👋
9 days ago, access to my work computer was disabled, as were about 200 other Twitter employees.
However, your human resources manager cannot confirm whether I am an employee or not. You have not responded to my emails.
Maybe if enough people retweet, you can reply to me here?

After a flurry of questions from Musk, who questioned the 45-year-old man about his work, questioning his disability and need for accommodations (Torleifson has muscular dystrophy and uses a wheelchair), Musk concluded that Thorleifson “has a known, active account.” on Twitter and he’s rich”, “He says he can’t tweet but he tweets very well”, and “The reason he approached me publicly is to get more compensation.” Musk even went so far as to call the 45-year-old the “worst one,” a tweet he later deleted.

While this online dialogue was going on, the 45-year-old employee received an email informing him that he had been fired.
However, the tech giant’s leader changed his mind on Wednesday night.
“I would like to apologize to Khali for not understanding his situation. I relied on things I was told that weren’t true or, in some cases, were true but didn’t matter. He is considering staying on Twitter,” he wrote.
I would like to apologize to Hallie for my misunderstanding of his situation. It was based on things I was told that weren’t true or, in some cases, true but didn’t make sense.
He is considering staying on Twitter.

“You have every right to fire me. But it would be nice if you let me know!” Thorleifsson, who lives in Iceland and has about 151,000 followers, later tweeted.
He joined the Twitter team in 2021 when the company, under its former management, acquired startup Ueno.
He was praised by the Icelandic media for choosing to use the sales price in wages instead of a lump sum, as this would result in higher taxes being paid to the country with the support of welfare services.
Last year, four Icelandic media outlets named him Icelandic Person of the Year.
It has been a difficult year in many ways. Lots of ups and downs.
But on the other hand, I have been awarded/voted Person of the Year by four major networks, programs and publications in Iceland.
Which for a shy and clumsy child seems a little strange, but at the same time quite pleasant.

However, former associates of the 45-year-old man have expressed dismay at how Musk has treated him online.
“As someone who has worked directly with Hali Thorleifson, everything I see is extremely disappointing. Not only is his work ethic top notch, but his talent and modesty are top notch,” wrote photographer Daniel Houghton, to which Musk responded, “Based on your comment, I just made a video call to Khali to see what’s going on and What did they say. me It’s a long story. It’s better to talk to people than to tweet.”
