PSD leader Marcel Ciolacu said Monday night on Romanian television that military pensions are not special and do not need to be cut because they are destroying the army in the conditions in which we have a war in Ukraine.

Cholaku says that even the special pensions of magistrates or police officers cannot be touched, and accuses politicians who promise these things of campaigning for themselves, of being ignorant and destabilizing Romania.

“Only some crazy politicians can claim that military pensions are special pensions and want to abolish them now that we have a war on the border,” Cholaku shouted on the show.

He suggests that the new pension reform will take care to eliminate those anomalies where individuals have a higher pension than salary.
