A young man from Pitesti called 112 after finding a bomb in the apartment of his father, who was a soldier who had died a few years ago, Argesh police said. The police evicted the residents of the block and prohibited access to the building.

  • “On March 5 of this year, around 6:00 p.m., police officers of the Pitesti Municipal Police received a report on number 112 that a young man had found a grenade on the balcony of his father’s apartment, a former military officer, but who was not there, he was still alive for several years.
  • Police officers from Pitesti Police Department 2 arrived at the scene and took the first measures and evacuated the residents from the 6th to the 10th floors and blocked access to the area,” said the message sent to IPJ Argeş.

According to the same source, police officers of the Weapons and Explosives Protection Service, specialized teams of the State Emergency Service, as well as police officers of the Special Events Service – pyrotechnic department, were also invited.

“After the first checks, it was established that the grenade is offensive, possibly maneuverable and was raised in safe conditions,” IPJ Argeş representatives clarified.
