A man who drifted in the Caribbean Sea on a sailboat for weeks in January, surviving mostly on ketchup, could have a new, state-of-the-art boat, News.ro reported with reference to CNN.

The gift is offered by ketchup manufacturer Heinz, who is trying to find Elvis Francois.

On February 14, the company posted an alert on social media hoping to locate the Dominica seafarer. According to Heinz’s social media accounts, they have already contacted the government of Dominica, the island nation where François is from, as well as the Colombian navy that rescued him.

But since no efforts to locate Francois have been successful, the ketchup maker has “asked the general public to try to help locate him,” according to a statement emailed to CNN.

“We are also asking any credible sources to contact Elvis so that we can help provide a new vessel equipped with full navigation technology to avoid another disaster in the future,” the company added.

Heinz also encouraged fans to use the hashtag #FindTheKetchupBoatGuy to expand their search area.

A few days later, Francois was found in the small community of Anse de Mai, in the north of Dominica, where he was staying with his mother and did not have a phone.

He eventually contacted Heinz officials, EmoNews reports.

In December, Francois, 47, was repairing his boat near the Dutch side of the island of St. Maarten when his boat was swept out to sea by the current. He told Colombian authorities he did not have the navigational skills to return to shore and spent 24 days at sea. He survived on bottles of ketchup, garlic powder and Maggi cubes that he mixed with water.

According to Colombian authorities, he was rescued after a plane spotted his sailboat with the words “help” on the hull.
