The Police Department of the Department for Combating Drugs of the Heraklion Security Sub-Directorate proceeded with the arrest of three people, two citizens and one foreigner, for the transport and trafficking of narcotic drugs.

They were arrested in Heraklion and Attica as part of a coordinated police operation. According to the police, the two men were involved in the supply, transportation and import of cocaine in Greece from abroad, and then its trafficking in Crete. During the preliminary police investigation, it was established that two citizens had previously traveled to foreign countries in order to obtain some amount of cocaine. Then, in order to transport it to Greece, they delivered it as household equipment to a transport company destined for Attica and a recipient abroad.

In this regard, a coordinated operation was carried out, during which the officers of the department for combating drugs of the sub-directorate of security of Heraklion, with the assistance of the employees of the passport control department of Promakhona, discovered a truck in which it was established that household appliances were being transported, and two parcels were found and seized in it, containing cocaine in the form of a brick, with a total weight of 1.73 kg.

Immediately, police officers of the Heraklion Anti-Narcotics Directorate of the Security Sub-Directorate discovered and arrested two citizens in Heraklion who were traveling in an IXE car. At the same time, police officers of the same Service, with the assistance of the Western Attica Security Subdivision, also discovered and detained a foreigner in the Attica region, who was found to have two mobile phones and confiscated. one of which was used to communicate and receive drug packages.

The preliminary investigation is being carried out by the Anti-Drugs Department of the Heraklion Security Sub-Directorate.
