Max Verstappen signed a contract with Heineken

According to De Telegraaf, the Red Bull pilot’s deal is for six years and is special because Heineken does not normally work directly with athletes.

“In 2016, we could never have imagined that this sport would develop so much in just a few years. Max made a huge contribution to this. His influence is enormous.

Formula 1 was originally a European affair, but is increasingly becoming a global sponsorship platform. Just look at the popularity in the USA” – Dolph van den BrinkCEO of Heineken.

Verstappen’s helmet will be emblazoned with the text ‘Player 0.0’, signifying the Dutchman’s involvement in Heineken’s new gaming platform. The brewery is already a global sponsor of F1.

Van den Brink said that Heineken wanted to start working with Verstappen earlier, but had to wait until he turned 25 (according to internal rules).
