US President Joe Biden, who made a surprise visit to Kyiv a day ago, is scheduled to deliver a speech at the Royal Castle in Warsaw at 6:30 p.m., a few hours after Vladimir Putin’s address to the nation. In his hallucinatory nearly two-hour speech, delivered a year after the invasion of Ukraine, the Kremlin leader claimed that it was the West that “started the conflict” and that Russia had to “use force to stop it.”

Joe Biden arrived in Poland after his historic visit to Kyiv, and on Tuesday he met with his Polish counterpart Andrzej Duda and members of his government at the presidential palace in Warsaw.

  • “As I also told President Zelensky when we spoke in Kyiv yesterday, I can say that our support for Ukraine remains unwavering,” Biden said.
  • “Your visit is an important signal of security, a signal of the responsibility of the United States for the security of the world and Europe. America can support world order,” Duda said during a meeting with the leader at the White House.

In a speech Tuesday night in Warsaw, Joe Biden will “defend the principle of sovereignty” and express support for Ukraine and the defense of NATO’s eastern flank, White House National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan said.

Biden’s speech comes just hours after a nearly two-hour speech by Vladimir Putin, who also announced that Russia is suspending its participation in the New Nuclear Weapons Treaty it has with the United States, the only one still in force in the nuclear field.
