A 16-year-old Palestinian boy died of his injuries on Monday, nearly two weeks after Israeli soldiers shot him in the head in the occupied West Bank, the Palestinian Ministry of Health said, as quoted by AFP.

In a statement, the ministry announced the death of “16-year-old Montaser Mohammad Teeb Shaw as a result of injuries received two weeks ago by occupation (Israeli) bullets in the Balata camp” near Nablus in the northern occupied West Bank.

Medical sources at Rafidiya Hospital in Nablus told AFP he was injured on February 8.

The Israeli military said in a statement that on the evening of February 8, “gunmen” opened fire on soldiers securing the entrance of Jewish worshipers near Joseph’s Tomb near Nablus.

The military responded with “combat fire”, injuring one person, the report said.
