In the chronicle of the arrests of the 12 defendants, in their first reactions and their positions to the police regarding the extent of their involvement in the wild fan attack, as well as what preceded it, a police officer of the crimes against life department was mentioned, the investigation of which continues 10- 1st day in the Joint Jury Thessaloniki, trial of murder of 19-year-old Alkis Campanos and for injuring two of his friends.

Based largely on the account given to his Service by the third defendant, the witness stated that the attack occurred as “retaliation” for an earlier fan incident that took place in the Oreokastro area when “Ari fans chased after PAOK fans.” According to the same version, the decision to move to Garilov was made by the first defendant (s.s.: the first to be arrested on time), for whom it was emphasized that he was one of the leading members of the central association of PAOK fans, where he “ruled the smaller eyelids.” According to the indictment, the defendants’ journey to Garilov began with this exile.

“They started taking phones and gathering in exile. The decision to commit the crime was made by all of them,” the policeman said and referred to the positions they took in the three cars, an arrangement he added was the result of their relationship, i.e. “who was more familiar with the other.” .

“They all moved together. They walked in this area, avoided traffic in front of the Ari stadium, ”the policeman continued his testimony, referring to the question asked by the attackers about which group the victims belong to. When they received the answer that it was Aris, “almost all of them moved together,” the witness said, identifying the third car as the one closest to the steps of the building on Ghazi Street, where the attack took place.

He named those who held a scythe, a karabite and a wooden pick in their hands, weapons that were found, and also named a person holding a knife, which, however, was not found during the searches. In addition, he named – based on videos viewed by his service – four people who “were the last to leave through Alki” and who came from the first two cars.

“They went to harm …,” he said in a related issue of a civil lawsuit, and regarding the position formulated by the defendants regarding the fatal blows of a 19-year-old teenager, he said: “Those who admitted that they hit, said that they hit his best friend.”

As for Alka’s injured friend, the witness noted that “he survived thanks to the immediate response of the EKAV rescuers, otherwise he could have been fatal.”

There was momentary tension when a witness referred to the 12th defendant’s criminal record (“he was accused of robbery”), when the civil defender, referring to a specific defendant, said: “Why are you looking at me like that”, and Alka’s relatives shouted at him tilt your head. The trial was suspended for a short time and will continue with the questioning of the same witness.
