Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said on Friday during the Munich Security Conference that Poland is not open to supplying Ukraine with F-16 fighter jets, Kyiv Independent reports.

However, he expressed his country’s readiness to cooperate with other NATO member states to provide alternative fighters.

Morawiecki explained the reason for this decision by the fact that there are “very few” F-16s in Poland’s arsenal.

He added that Poland has already sent 250 tanks to Ukraine and will deliver another 60 modernized tanks and 14 Leopard-2 tanks.

“It is incorrect to say that Ukraine cannot be defeated and that the Russian Federation cannot win this war. It must be said: Russia must lose this war, and Ukraine must win this war,” he emphasized.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy again called for heavy weaponry and said that it was “obvious” that Ukraine would not be the end line for Russian President Vladimir Putin’s invasion, and that Russia was now thinking of “stifling” the Republic of Moldova.

Zelensky said that the Russian leader will continue to attack other countries of the post-Soviet space while the West is discussing the supply of tanks to Ukraine.

“Obviously, Ukraine will not be his last stop. He will continue his movement all the way… including all other states that were once part of the Soviet bloc,” Zelensky said about Putin.

In particular, Ukraine requires fighter jets and advanced battle tanks ahead of an expected Russian offensive in the spring.
