A soldier of the Romanian Air Force died on Tuesday at the 57 Mihail Kogelnicanu base, he was resting and was found by his colleagues in bed in an unconscious state, and later did not respond to resuscitation maneuvers, according to News.ro.

The Ministry of National Defense said in a press release that a graduate of the Romanian Air Force died on Tuesday at Base 57 Mykhailo Kogelnicanu in Constanta County.

“Corporal 2nd class Marian Pasku was sent to Center 70 Geniu Pantelimon and was stationed at Base 57 Mykhailo Kogelnicanu. The soldier, who was resting, was found unconscious in bed by his servicemates around 4:30 p.m. Base medics provided him with first aid, and later the soldier was taken away by the SMURD brigade. “Despite all the efforts of the medical team, the corporal did not respond to resuscitation measures and declared death,” the message reads.

According to the quoted source, the military prosecutor’s office in Constanta was informed according to the procedures, the exact cause of death will be established after the completion of medical and judicial procedures.

Also, the commander of the unit to which the soldier belonged appointed a commission to find out the circumstances of the event.

Corporal 2nd class Marian Pashko was 43 years old and had been working in MApN since 2006. He was married and had a 12-year-old child.
