The first two humanitarian aid flights out of five that Greece will send to Turkey arrived at dawn in Adana.

The Greek aid was accompanied by Minister of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection Christos Stylianidis and the Secretary General of the ministry.

Mr. Stylianidis then returned to Greece to oversee the departure of three more flights.

Images of the arrival of the Greek mission were tweeted by the Greek Embassy in Ankara, and the second post shows the second EMAK and EKAV mission arriving in Turkey yesterday.

5 flights with medical equipment to Turkey

The Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection announced yesterday that, on the orders of Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, Greece has provided assistance to the victims and covered the emerging needs for medical and medical equipment and essentials, such as 7,500 blankets, 1,500 beds and 500 tents that can accommodate families and which can be used as mobile clinics.

To transport all the materials, five flights will be made to Turkey by Aegean aircraft.

The mission is carried out in consultation with the Turkish authorities, with the assistance of the Turkish Ambassador in Athens and in cooperation with the European Commission in the context of the revitalization of the European Civil Protection Mechanism.

It is noted that the cost of transporting materials to be provided will be covered by 75% of the European Civil Protection Mechanism, and the remaining 25% of the national contribution will be sponsored by Aegean.
