
A video from the search and rescue operation of migrants in Lesbos was published by the Coast Guard.
Since Tuesday morning, an operation has been ongoing on the fact of a shipwreck in the Provoskida area, which is located east of the island.
At the moment, 19 people have been rescued, three bodies have been found. The migrants were on an inflatable boat that crashed into the rocks, with about 41 people on board, they said.
None of the rescued were wearing life jackets at the time of their discovery, according to the Coast Guard.
Ten of the 19 rescued were taken to the hospital with hypothermia, the rest were transferred to the Reception and Identification Center.
The prevailing weather conditions are unfavorable, with a northeasterly wind of 6 Beaufort.
The operation is coordinated by ECSC and includes an offshore vessel, two coast guard ships and a Super Puma helicopter, and searches for survivors are also conducted from the shore.
