The Department of Emergency Situations (DSU) reports on Monday evening that Romanian rescue teams have arrived in Turkey.

“2 military planes transporting a Romanian rescue team and equipment have landed in Adana, Turkey. We remind you that based on the request for international assistance formulated by the Government of the Republic of Turkey through the European Civil Protection Mechanism, almost 60 Romanian rescuers (specialized search and rescue teams RO-USAR, doctors and assistants UPU-SMURD Bucharest) “Floreasca, a team formed from specialized staff and a canine team from the Service Dog Club) with the relevant specialized equipment departed from Bucharest today to support their Turkish counterparts,” the DSU said on Monday evening.

The quoted source said that the Romanian rescue team had contacted the Turkish authorities, which are directly responsible for determining the area of ​​action and the intervention of the teams that came to support.

“At the same time, a third plane belonging to the Romanian Air Force is now heading to Adana to complete the equipment related to the rescue teams,” the DSU also said.

After consulting with Romanian President Klaus Iohannis, Prime Minister Nicolae-Ionel Cuke convened the National Emergency Committee on Monday at the suggestion of the DSU, News.ro reported.
