Manuel Neuer is shocked by the dismissal of Toni Tapalovic

In a scandalous interview, Neuer sharply criticized the club’s decision to fire Toni Tapalovic, the goalkeeping coach and the most trusted person of the German player, writes AS.com.

“This hit affected me a lot. I learned from the club management. It came out of nowhere for both me and Tony. I didn’t understand and it bothered me a lot.

Tony has always been one of us, for 11-and-a-half years he has worked not only with me, but with a whole group of goalkeepers, with coaches and with the club.

It was a blow to me when I was already on the ground. I felt my heart breaking. It was the most brutal event in my career. Everyone in our group started crying when they found out. I think that says it all,” Neuer said.

According to sports director Hasan Salihamidzic, on January 23, Toni Tapalovic was fired from the position of goaltending coach because other members of the staff differed in their views on the job.

Manuel Neuer is out for at least six months after breaking his leg while skiing, while Bayern Munich have already brought in Swiss Jann Sommer from Borussia Mönchengladbach as a replacement.
