The number of cases of flu and viruses is decreasing, a decrease of 25% in the last week alone, the Minister of Health says. Rafila believes that in two weeks the flu epidemic will be over.
According to the Minister of Health, 100,000 new cases of respiratory viruses and flu were registered in the last week, compared to 140,000 a week ago.
“We accurately presented data on viruses and, as we estimated, their number began to decrease. It has fallen by 25 percent in the last week, a significant drop from almost 140,000 to 100,000. We expect this downward trend to continue and with it to stop and problems, including serious cases or deaths, to decrease,” said Alexandru Rafila on Sunday evening in Prima News, News.ro reports.
The Minister of Health believes that in about two weeks the flu epidemic will end: “We are still in an epidemic, but this decline, quite rapid, is definitely a downward trend that will lead to the elimination of the situation.” epidemic we are facing. I think that in two weeks we will be able to talk about the end of the flu epidemic.”
Asked about the situation with drugs used to treat respiratory viruses, Rafila said there are no problems, although the consumption is higher than usual: “It is higher than the usual consumption of drugs. If we talk about drugs against respiratory viruses, we managed to get the consent of the European Commission to limit the export of some anti-inflammatory molecules and antibiotics for a period of 3 months. I have no indication at this time that there are any problems with the supply of drugs.”
