The Czech pair of Barbora Krejcikova and Kateryna Siniakova (top favourites) won the Australian Open 2023 women’s doubles final on Sunday, the first Grand Slam event of the year.

Krejcikova and Siniakova defended their title, won a year ago, defeating Japan’s Shuko Aoyama and Ena Shibahara (seeded at number 10) 6-4, 6-3 in the final.

Barbora and Kateryna will receive $479,612, while Shuko and Ena settled for $255,333.

Barbora Krejcikova and Kateryna Siniakova triumphed together at Roland Garros (2018, 2021), Wimbledon (2018, 2022), US Open (2022) and Australian Open (2022, 2023).They also won gold at the Tokyo Olympics (2020) and won the Tournament of Champions (2021).
