McGregor posted a video of himself on the road after the incident on Instagram. He was heard to say: “I could have been dead over there” as the driver of the car apologised.

He later deleted the posts.

“I was just rear-ended by a car,” McGregor wrote on Instagram. “Dazzled by the sun, the driver did not see me. Full speed right through me. Thank God it wasn’t my time. Thanks also to freestyle wrestling and judo. What I realized when I fell saved my life,” he added.

The woman recently accused McGregor of attacking him on his yacht last July, prompting investigations in both Ireland and Spain. She told police McGregor “would have killed her” if she hadn’t jumped off his yacht to escape. McGregor denies the allegations.

The former featherweight and featherweight champion also said the UFC has asked him to coach the next season of “The Ultimate Fighter” and has yet to say whether he would agree to return to the reality show.

McGregor last fought in July 2021, losing by TKO to Dustin Poirier. McGregor broke his leg in the match and has been on the mend ever since. McGregor’s trainer John Cavanagh has said he expects McGregor to fight in 2023.
