Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky turned 45 on Wednesday, as Ukraine marks the 336th day of the war started by Vladimir Putin. “But something has changed: now you smile much less,” Olena Zelenska, his life partner, with whom he lived for 19 years, sent him this message.

  • “I am often asked how you have changed this year. And I always say: “It hasn’t changed at all.” That’s it. The same guy I met when I was 17 years old,” Zelenska wrote on Instagram, posting a photo of herself and the president of Ukraine.

  • “But something has changed: now you smile much less. For example, like in this photo… I wish you had more reasons to smile. And you know why it is necessary. We all know that,” continued the First Lady of Ukraine.

Zelenska also says that her husband has “enough stubbornness” and that the most important thing now is to “keep himself healthy”: “So be healthy, please! I want to always smile with you. Give me this chance!”.

Olena Zelenska will also turn 45 on February 6.
