“We have great expectations from the Ukraine-EU summit on February 3 and from the joint meeting of the Government of Ukraine and the EU Collegium on the eve of the summit. We are looking forward to tangible practical results of both events,” said Kuleba. in a speech supported on Monday at the meeting of the EU Council on Foreign Affairs, the Correspondent reports.

The head of Ukrainian diplomacy reminded that Ukraine is completing the implementation of the recommendations of the European Commission and is counting on a positive report from the Commission this spring. Kuleba also emphasized that Ukraine expects a positive assessment of its efforts to implement the recommendations, which will be included in the final statement of the Ukraine-EU summit on February 3.

“We are convinced that pre-accession negotiations should begin as soon as possible after Ukraine implements the recommendations and after a positive assessment by the European Commission. Ukraine is making every effort, and I am convinced that we should start pre-accession negotiations earlier than the end of 2023. No game or narrow political interests should be in the way,” Dmytro Kuleba concluded
