PSD MP Marian Mina harshly attacks the liberals, who “started throwing handkerchiefs over their mouths out of anger”: “You don’t want to tell us what you are doing with Bode the plagiarist, with Preda’s “unofficial sources” and with the combiner from Energia Popescu?! “.
He tells liberals via a Facebook post that the “pole is swelling” and will “blow up in their faces.”
- “Several #PNL hotheads started throwing handkerchiefs in anger on a rotational basis. It’s easier on the nerves, PNL colleagues, because you have half of the ministers with problems!
- Until you issue rotation ultimatums, don’t you want to tell us what you’re doing with Bode the plagiarist, Preda the “unofficial sources” and Popescu the combiner with Energy?! Complete silence. What are all these people looking for in positions?
- No matter how many dodges and pirouettes you do, it is clear that the pole will inflate and explode in your face. Tick yes!
- PS: Until the rotation, let us manage. Stop talking and do what is right for the people!” Meena wrote on Facebook on Saturday.
The leaders of the SDP publicly stated that in the government ring it is not possible to “change the players who are speaking”. PSD President Marcel Cholaku and PSD General Secretary claim that the change of the prime minister does not require a change of portfolios.
- PSD does not want to change ministers / Stenescu: You do not change the players who speak
In response, PNL First Vice President Raresh Bohdan said that the rotation would be carried out “according to the formula that was provided in the signed protocol” and that there would be no negotiations between PSD and PNL regarding the portfolios. Bohdan also stated that “introducing debates 4-5 months before the round is senseless and does not contribute to good governance.”
- “We will not discuss even one point. PNL will not even move away from this issue,” said Raresh Bohdan on Realitatea TV.
“Government rotation” is what the PSD-PNL-UDMR political agreement envisages
According to the political agreement signed in 2021 during the creation of the Coalition, the PSD-PNL-UDMR should exchange ministries and prime ministers in May 2023.
More precisely, the protocol stipulates that the first candidate for the position of Prime Minister Nicolae Chuke will have a mandate until May 25, 2023, and the second candidate from the PSD until the general elections in 2024.
In addition to the rotation of prime ministers, PSD and PNL and UDMR will also exchange ministries. The political agreement signed in the Coalition concerns four ministries: transport, investment and European projects, justice and finance (the last two key ministries, as they approve all projects that go through the Government).
Apart from the agreements and official documents, the intentions are different at the political level. The Social Democrats have given public signals that they want to keep some portfolios. PSD President Marcel Čolaku has recently repeatedly stated that the ministries of transport and European funds should not play in 2023.
