Greek and foreign authorities continue to investigate to identify and locate persons who are members of a criminal organization that transported large quantities of cocaine from Latin America to Europe.
A few days ago, DEA officials, in collaboration with the DEA, SDOE and Coast Guard, proceeded to arrest four members of the organization who had been smuggling cocaine since at least 2022. which they hid on merchant ships from South America to destinations in Europe, including Greece.
Among those arrested were PIE and B.K.O. The former appears as the leader of the group and as the person who gave the instructions and undertook to find the drugs, arrange for them to be transported from Brazil to European countries, and hide them on merchant ships bound for various European destinations.
B.K.O. he was a direct employee of PIE and established contacts to find and recruit employees on the European continent, to obtain drugs and their further trade.
Wanted…dockers
However, the authorities were unable to identify the people responsible for “loading” the drugs on cargo ships sailing from Brazil to Europe.
These are people who pretended to be dock workers and managed to sneak into the Brazilian port of Santos without anyone noticing. In particular, around the end of November last year, pretending to be port workers, they managed to gain access to a ship with a final destination in Greece and hide a large consignment of cocaine.
They hid the drugs in the walls of a building used as an office for dockers, where they could be while loading, unloading or repairing the ship, while remaining unnoticed. These are unknown persons whose traces are still unknown.
Transportation by taxi
Regarding the transportation of drugs from the port to the “market”, the leaders of EL.AS. they located and arrested a member of the group who was transporting about 30 kg of cocaine in a taxi.
In total, as a result of the searches, 32 kg and 300 grams of cocaine, 940 euros, 1.73 US dollars and 5550 Brazilian reais, GPS, taxis and 8 mobile phones were found and seized.
The illegal financial gain from drug trafficking is estimated at more than 1,000,000 euros.
