On Wednesday, at the beginning of the government meeting, Prime Minister Nicolae Chuke expressed his condolences to the families affected by the tragic accident at the Oltenia energy complex, in which 3 people died, and asked for concrete measures to punish those responsible.

“From the very first moment when we decided to have the authorities go to the place, I told the Minister of Energy to urgently move to the Gorge District and conduct an analysis and take the first measures on the spot.

At the moment, both the Ministry of Energy and the Ministry of Labor, through the Labor Inspectorate, will continue their work to verify the causes of the accident and by next week at the government meeting, you will provide me with the first data and conclusions with specific measures both for those who are responsible for the accident and specific measures for improvement of working conditions in the Oltenia energy complex,” Prime Minister Nicolae Chuke said on Wednesday.

Government sources said on Wednesday that all options are currently being considered, including the departure of Energy Minister Virgil Popescu from the government.
