The former commander of the Russian Ground Forces, General Volodymyr Boldyrev, responded to the leader of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, after he called him “general blah blah blah”, reports Lenta.
The dispute between the two began when Boldirev, who commanded Russia’s ground forces from 2008 to 2010, said the other day that the Chechen leader, as a civilian, had no right to criticize General Alexander Lapin, the former commander of the Central Military District.
We will remind you that Ramzan Kadyrov and the head of mercenaries of the “Wagner” PMC Yevgeny Prigozhin committed a series of harsh attacks against him in October of last year after the loss of the city of Liman.
In early November, Lapin was replaced by Russian President Vladimir Putin, but last week the Kremlin leader appointed him chief of the General Staff of the Russian Ground Forces.
“The commander of the district troops, the commander of the front group of troops, the Hero of Russia, colonel-general Lapin, can be evaluated, and even more so, criticized by only two people. This is our Minister of Defense and the President of our country. No other official can rate him,” Boldirev said regarding Kadyrov’s criticism of his colleague.
In an interview on Monday, Kadyrov said of Boldyrev that he had been demoted as commander of the Ground Forces and transferred to the North Caucasus Military District for dereliction of duty.
Ramzan Kadyrov, angry that a Russian general made him a “civilian”.
The head of Chechnya was particularly concerned that Boldirev called him a “civilian person”, recalling that he is a general of the National Guard of the Russian Federation with “longevity, experience and results”.
“Which of us is better: colonel general blah blah blah or colonel general Kadyrov?” – asked the head of Chechnya rhetorically.
The remote dialogue between the two continued on Tuesday, when Boldirev defended himself in an interview with the RBC channel, recalling that after commanding the North Caucasus District, he was appointed to the equivalent position of commanding the Volga-Ural Military District.
“For some reason, [Kadîrov] he did not remember the year 2008 and the pacification of Georgia, for some reason he missed this moment completely,” said Boldirev about Russia’s invasion of Georgia at the time he commanded the Moscow Ground Forces.
According to Boldirev, only Sergei Shoigu and Putin have the right to publicly criticize the Russian command, accusations against them coming from other persons are “only empty words or hidden noise, which may be encouraged from somewhere.”
