The French Chamber of Accounts has announced the estimated cost of the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris.
The 2024 Paris Olympics cost approximately 3 billion euros
According to AFP, the total costs will reach three billion euros.
“The Games, as a rule, are often the subject of budgetary excesses that undermine citizens’ confidence in the possibility of holding such events,” Pierre Moscovisi, a former economy minister who is now in charge of the Chamber of Accounts, told French senators.
“After taking into account financial costs, security costs, sanitary and transport costs, public costs (of the state and communities) will amount to about three billion euros,” said Moscovici.
Currently, this cost is “2.4 billion euros”, according to the head of the Accounting Chamber.
At this stage, the Organizing Committee has increased its budget (96% private) by 10% to €4.4 billion, while Solideo (the Olympic delivery company) has a budget of €4.4 billion, with an estimated public share of €1.870 billion. reports Agerpres.
