Bloomberg writes that Apple would like to install microLED screens on its watches from the end of 2024 to replace OLED technology. But 2024 is an ambitious goal, so if something changes, it will be from 2025.

It will start with the Apple Watch and continue with the Apple iPhone, but much later. Discussions started five years ago, the procedure is very complicated.

Apple will also NOT be involved in the production of screens, for which other companies will receive contracts. But Apple will have full control over the design, which it doesn’t currently have.

In a few years, Apple could develop its own screens for the iPhone, but this is an even more complicated and very long process.
