Vladimir Putin’s “rocket man” died on December 30 under mysterious circumstances, writes La Libre Belgique newspaper, cited by Rador.
According to the quoted source, Volodymyr Nesterov was one of Russia’s top engineers and designed the Russian Angara rockets, which the Kremlin intended to use for space flight. Thanks to his contribution, the first Russian mission to the moon is being developed.
But, as the British newspaper The Sun writes, he would also be accused of embezzlement: he would illegally take over 65 million euros. Criminal proceedings were opened against Volodymyr Nesterov in 2014. He has been under house arrest since then.
The cause of his death is unknown.
This is the fourth person who died under suspicious circumstances in Vladimir Putin’s entourage in a week.
