Vasile, the mayor of Las Fierbinci, from the series of the same name broadcast by PRO TV, played by the actor Gheorghe Ifrim, makes a painful conclusion in a special episode broadcast on the first day of Christmas, about the reality of Romania, a country that works like a miracle because of the “dragon” , which is all over the country, referring to the poverty that oppresses more people than at any time since 1989, and the rinse of politicians, mentioning various projects that remain only on paper, such as an educated Romania, roads, schools and hospitals new promises of the authorities.

“Do you think it’s easy to be a mayor? I’m telling you. It’s not like that,” Mayor Vasile from Las Firbintsi begins his monologue. “When I entered politics, I wanted to do good. Not to me, to those who voted for me. And not only them. all. I mean you. However, even in politics, the calculation at home does not coincide with the fair one. I’ve run into old and senior people in office like me who wouldn’t let me do good for you unless I did good for them first,” the mayor continues.

Vasile tells the villagers that in this way the man who came to the elections no longer existed and turned out to be “a bad, cowardly, liar.”

Vasile tells them that he lied when someone asked him if there was a “dragon” in their small town, bitterly saying that the fairy tale monster is all over Romania.

“The dragon that eats our days: poverty!”

“When things were good in Europe, we were bad. Now it’s bad in Europe, but it’s even worse here!” – believes the mayor of Las Fierbinci, who claims that the dragon must be defeated together with the entire political class of Romania.

The mayor continues your monologue by saying that he is fed up with the politicians, including his own, with the ambitious projects that leaders talked about but did nothing about.

“Educated Romania? gargle! What education to do without money? Thousands of kilometers of highways? gargle! Hundreds of new hospitals? gargle! New schools? Gargle!” – says Vasyl bitterly.

“Romania works a miracle”

The mayor of Las Fierbinci concludes that Romania is a miracle because it works without unnecessary things.

“This is a mine that still exists on the map. It is only a miracle that trains still run on these old tracks and have not changed for 50 years. It’s just a miracle that we no longer have the 10th Team. It’s just a miracle that we don’t have 10 Giulești maternity hospital. Romania is experiencing a miracle, it does not follow the plan, the instructions, because there is no system, there are no rules, everything is done by ear,” continues Vasile, who claims that the rules are created according to how the wind blows and depending on how much great “lust for money”.

And this miracle in Romania has been working for decades thanks to politicians.

Mayor Vasile apologizes on Christmas night to local residents who were stunned by the gesture of the leader of the small village of Munteania.

Policeman Roby, played by actor Leonid Doni, congratulates Mayor Vasyl at the end of the monologue, telling him that “he is not stupid.” that in fact with this speech he won his future mandate, a better idea than giving buckets, oil or flour, the mayor laments that he is not sincerely believed.

“The curse of the politician, that’s it! No matter what you say, no one believes you,” Robi calmly answers.
