23 Reasons Why The Office Shouldn’t Leave Netflix in 2023

The first shock came when “Friends” were removed from Netflix and suddenly most of them felt a great emptiness during dinner. Is it possible to have a lunch break without “Friends”?

And if the series of the most beloved New York band returned to the platform after a while, then other news came, dissatisfied with many: The American ‘Office’ will no longer be on Netflix in 2023 in 20 countries, including Greece. Believers will find the series from the new year on the streaming service peacock (which, of course, is not available in our country).

So the days for The Office on Netflix can count, however, when we do the final reruns, we find 23 reasons why the series shouldn’t leave the platform in 2023:

Because “The Office” is taken from life. This is where his great success lies.

Plus, a whole universe of office memes and “Office Life” type pages. they wouldn’t exist without the series, which is the definitive exploration of office culture.

Because you don’t have to sell paper to identify with Dunder Mifflin. Boredom, routine, quarrels, sympathies, (hidden) love, face saving and what no one can see are all structural components of every microcosm of every office in this world.

Because it’s delightfully inconvenient. It may not reach the outrageously clumsy levels of the original British The Office, but one look at the camera from any character is enough to make the viewer feel like a part of this crazy troupe.

Because it’s probably the best TV remake we’ve ever seen. It’s really impressive how the creators have taken one of the most unique comedies to ever make it their own and developed it to its fullest, achieving creative weaning. Somehow, the Ricky Gervais British series, as the seasons of the American version went on, seemed more and more like a starting line for Greg Daniels to develop his comedic spark.

Because it’s definitely one of the best sitcoms we’ve ever seen. And the only series that can compete with him is Seinfeld (yes, not Friends).

Because no one played better than Jim Halpert. Indeed, who would ever think of sticking a stapler in a jelly fruit?

And of course Dwight didn’t come back, when he destroyed the plan by fire in Dunder Mifflin’s office. Well played, Dwight.

Because we’ve all had a boss, Michael Scott, at least once in our lives. A clumsy one whose ambition will drive him to do almost anything to keep his job status from faltering, obsessed with his job but not as capable as he thinks, but deep down kind-hearted, doing it all to feel accepted.

Because there are those who had a colleague Dwight Schrute. Deep support and a pat on the back.

For all those Michael Scott alter egos. When Meryl Streep saw her in The Devil Wears Prada when she became Jail Mike, but also when she tried her luck as Mike on a Date.

Which Madonna and which Britney Spears? One kiss:

Because a terrible guy named Robert California passed our screen for a while. And for some reason, we think that’s how Elon Musk hangs out in the offices of Twitter.

Why and who did not envy the love of Jim and Pam? And the reason why they are a reference couple is because their story is not only about a lightning-fast romance at first sight, but because they both take care of their relationship in every way at every stage.

For Jim and Pam’s wedding. Not “normal”, ordinary.

And now between us: there was someone who, during the course of the affair, did not like the Dwight-Angela couple didn’t he say “Yes, they deserve each other”?

Because no one has perfected the art of a partner like Creed. He played a more or less extreme version of himself – Creed Bratton was also a musician in real life in the 60s – and even one of his phrases from the depth of the frame could lift any scene.

Because Toby is the colleague everyone loves to hate. Wretched to the marrow, she can ruin your mood, but just wishing good morning is a necessary addition to any office. Just don’t tell Michael Scott his name.

Because we’re facing an unexpected escalation in the dinner episode, when hosts Mikhail and Yan, with their fight, gave us one of the most dramatic moments of the series, from where we did not expect it.

Because the show made us realize what a great comedian Steve Carell is. Before that, he was someone who starred in slapstick comedies like The 40 Year Old Virgin, but the subtlety with which he handled all aspects of Michael Scott elevated him to one of the best American comedians of his generation, leaving us feeling like the role absolutely and rightfully belonged to him.

Because what ultimately makes The Office a really good show is its dramatic weight. Hidden behind countless hilarious jokes are characters who are fragile, resentful and, although often problematic, we deeply sympathize with them precisely because they are human. Proof that comedy and drama are two sides of the same coin. And to get back to where we started, The Office is taken from life. This is where his great success lies.
