Our attempt is that over a period of time labor taxation will be reduced, said Adrian Cachiu, Minister of Finance, during a meeting of the budget and finance commissions where the 2023 budget is being discussed.
“Therefore, when we came to the minimum wage, we started a benefit or an indirect reduction of labor taxation through this benefit of 200 lei of the minimum wage. In the coming weeks, we are having discussions with the business community so that we can extend this benefit to those who raise wages,” he said.
According to some government sources, work is underway on a project according to which employers who raise wages by 450 lei will be exempted from taxes by 200 lei.
“This will be a voluntary event. This will amount to a salary of 3,000 to 5,000 lei. Those who increase their salary by 450 will have 200 lei tax-free,” the sources said.
We remind you that according to the Decree on trains, 200 lei are exempt from taxes on the minimum wage.
