An explosion took place at the headquarters of Wagner Yevgeny Prigozhin’s group of mercenaries in the city of Kadiivka, Luhansk region, the governor of the region, Serhii Gaidai, reported, Kyiv Independent reports.

The Russian state news agency TASS reported that on December 10, an explosion occurred in a hotel in Kadiivka, occupied Luhansk region.

“Finally, the president listens to us and smokes in the right places,” says Gaidai, noting that photos of the destruction at the site have already appeared online.

Some netizens wrote on Twitter that Ukrainians fired HIMARS at Wagner’s headquarters.

The Russians “don’t even hide that there are huge losses,” Gaidai said.

Britain’s Ministry of Defense said on March 28 that Russia had deployed global mercenaries from the Wagner Group to eastern Ukraine amid heavy losses to its military.

Wagner’s group has been accused of human rights abuses, including torture and executions, in Ukraine, Syria, Libya, the Central African Republic, Sudan and Mozambique.

Ukrainian troops also struck a Russian base in the temporarily occupied zone in the Zaporizhzhia region, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported on Saturday, Kyiv Independent reports. According to the General Staff, up to 150 Russian soldiers were injured in the occupied Melitopol of the Zaporizhzhia region, 50 soldiers were taken to the hospital.
