The heart transplant performed in Onassios was completed at noon. The operation lasted about four hours.

For the past two months, the woman has been on mechanical support due to heart failure.

After the operation, she is under deep sedation, intubated in the Onassios intensive care unit, while her cardiac function is still maintained due to the severity of the pre-existing problem.

Doctors are optimistic, according to ERT, believing that everything will be fine.

The rest of the donated instruments were given to Papageorgios and Hippocrates.
