Football player Andres Balanta died at the age of 22

The Colombian was on loan at Atletico Tucuman and the incident appears to have happened on Tuesday, right at his team’s training session.

Andres Balanta fainted on the field and was taken to the hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead after resuscitation.

“Atletico Tucuman regretfully confirms the death of Colombian player Andres Balanta”. – wrote the club on Twitter.

Andres Balanta was a Colombian champion with Deportivo Cali in 2021 and a former Colombia U20 player.

Local publication La Gaceta recalls that the player also complained of health problems during his stay at Deportivo Cali. In 2019, he suddenly fainted on the field, but at that time the tests they underwent showed no abnormalities.
