A 39-year-old IT professional has come face-to-face with the judiciary because he was found to be in possession of photographs of a child he obtained online.
The investigator and the prosecutor, after his confession, decided that he should be released, imposing restrictive conditions of a ban on leaving the country, appearing at the police station 3 times a month and additionally imposing a financial guarantee in the amount of 5,000 euros.
The accused allegedly denied to the investigator the act attributed to him, claiming that the photos were sent to him through a specific application, from profiles with a female name. According to the statement that the 39-year-old allegedly makes, since he suspected that the person was not 17 years old, as he told him, but younger, he asked to clarify her age and that is why he asked for photographs in order to identify the person he was talking to, and his age. The defendant allegedly admits that he sent the 13-year-old teenager some amounts of money totaling 140 euros.
The 39-year-old is the first of a group of people found to have bought the girl’s material, which was sold by Ilias Mihos, who were called by an investigator to apologize for child pornography.
