The armed forces of Ukraine are gradually advancing in the Luhansk region, but it is quite difficult to restore “every meter,” the head of the Luhansk regional military administration, Serhiy Gaidai, said in an interview, quoted by “Ukrainian Pravda”. This also explains why Luhansk is so difficult to rebuild compared to Kharkiv.

“In the direction of Svatove-Kreminna, the trend is still positive, our troops are advancing.”

At the same time, Gaidai added that the Armed Forces are restoring every meter of Luhansk region with great difficulty. In his opinion, one of the reasons is the absence of the suddenness factor, as was the case, in particular, during the liberation of Kharkiv region.

“After the liberation of Kharkiv region, the Russian troops managed to mine a huge territory and build up reserves. They also brought Kadyrov detachments and those prisoners recruited by Prigozhin, they managed to blow up bridges and build certain defensive structures. Therefore, the restoration of every meter of Luhansk region, every settlement is quite difficult,” he added.

As a matter of fact, Gaidai warned as early as September that the liberation of the region would be more difficult than the Kharkiv region, due to the large concentration of Russian troops in Luhansk.

Over the weekend, the defense forces regained control over the village of Makiivka.

“News from the frontline of Luhansk region: the village of Makiyivka, located in Krasnorichenska of Svativ district, is moving into the “blue zone,” the military administration of Luhansk region reported.
