One of the most important innovations that Apple promised when it presented the iPhone 14 series will become available starting this month, according to the American company.

Thanks to the Emergency SOS function, users will be able to send written emergency messages from areas that are not covered by terrestrial communication infrastructure.

Also, through a satellite connection, users will be able to use the Find My application to transmit their geographic location.

This feature is currently only available on the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro and only works in the US and Canada. It will only be free for the first two years.

Apple will invest 450 million dollars in the infrastructure necessary for satellite communication, a large part of this money will go to the partner Globalstar. Emergency SOS will use Globalstar satellites, and more than 300 Globalstar employees will operate the Apple-launched service.
