On Thursday, a US judge ordered American conspiracy theorist Alex Jones, who has already been ordered to pay nearly a billion dollars to the families of victims of a school massacre he denied, to pay an additional $473 million, AFP reports.

Connecticut Magistrate Barbara Bellis ruled that Jones’ conduct was unlawful.

The owner of the website Infowars has claimed that relatives of students and staff killed in 2012 at Sandy Hook High School in Connecticut were actors and that the killing was staged by gun advocates. A persistent conspiracy theory that has spread across the internet.

Alex Jones and his company, Free Speech Systems, engaged in “almost a decade of assaults on the plaintiffs, including during litigation, hateful, malicious and unjustified conduct that harmed the plaintiffs,” wrote the judge who presided over the legal process.

She ordered him to pay more than $473 million in compensation.

In October, a jury in Waterbury, Connecticut ruled that Alex Jones must pay the families of the eight victims, as well as the FBI agent who was present on the day of the tragedy, $965 million in damages for defamation, pain and suffering.
