“At the Domodedovo airport, unknown persons armed with assault rifles approached one of the exits, where they stole bags with cash from two men. The damage is about 4 million dollars,” a source in the security forces told TASS.

According to her, the perpetrators also stole two cars, a Lexus model and a Toyota Land Cruiser, in which they were going to the airport, but escaped in another car.

“Currently, the perpetrators are wanted. According to preliminary data, they fled in a Chevrolet Tahoe,” the TASS source reported.

Representatives of the Domodedovo airport denied the information provided by the RIA Novosti agency that shots were heard during the robbery.

Kommersant, Russia’s largest financial daily, notes that attackers took $4 million from two Kyrgyz citizens who flew from Bishkek to buy a business in Russia.

“Two men flew to Moscow with such a large sum to buy a business. As soon as they declared the money and left the airport with bags full of cash, two cars drove up to them and threatened people with automatic weapons,” reports Baza, one of the most popular telegram channels in Russia.

Domodedovo International Airport, formerly known as Mikhail Lomonosov International Airport, is located approximately 42 kilometers southwest of central Moscow.
