On Thursday evening (March 11), the Port Authority of Rhodes began a land and sea hunt to find a prisoner who had escaped from the Ialyssos area.
According to the online version of Demokratika, the prisoner was taken, accompanied by two port guards, to the beach of Ialyssos as part of the preliminary investigation, as he was arrested the day before yesterday for smuggling immigrants and was about to indicate his accomplice to the port guard. He approached a car with two men, got into it and fled. The Coast Guard pursued them but failed to catch them, and the car was later found abandoned.
